Vasectomy Reversal Methods - What Else Can You Do To Restore Your Possibility For A Baby
This may sound crazy but out of the approximately half million persons who get a vasectomy every year, five percent, or almost twenty five thousand change their minds in the future. But is a reversal the only option? In fact, there are some other vasectomy reversal alternatives possible.
In a vasectomy, the vas deferens, the tubing that moves sperm to the testicles, is cut so that the flow is interrupted. In a reversal, the part is reconnected. Sounds simple, isn't it? Well, it isn't always that easy and sometimes it isn't successful, either.
If faced with this result, you do have alternatives. But they may not be the one you want to hear. The reason is since a reversal is not covered by insurance and can easily run anywhere from seven thousand to around ten thousand dollars, all at your own expense. For most, this is a huge amount of money to come up with. In fact, it is a huge effort for most specifically now no matter how much they may want to have a child.
But there are instances where even having the surgery is not the answer. For different reasons, a guy may not be medically fit for getting his vasectomy reversed. On the other hand, a reversal may be done without a positive outcome. In both of these cases, there are two different vasectomy reversal alternatives that you can try.
One is IVF, or in vitro fertilization. This is usually associated with a woman's conditions in conceiving, but it can be performed even when the man is the problem sometimes. The success rate for this procedure is not very high and cannot be confirmed to any level. But the major issue with IVF is the enormous expense. It can easily run up to twenty thousand dollars or even more. And this is for one chance at being pregnant. If it doesn't get then you are out the money and you have to think whether to try out it again.
The other vasectomy reversal alternatives is referred to as Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection, or ICSI. ICSI is similar to an IVF with the only difference being that the sperm has to be extracted from the testicle by a needle and then applied to fertilize the egg. The point is getting the sperm from where it is more possible.
Though these might not be the vasectomy reversal alternatives you were thinking, there really isn't much else. Herbs just aren't going to recover something that was surgically changed. Hoping for an automatic reversal is not as much in the cards as it once was either and is uncommon making it something not to hold your expectations on.
